SUMMER PURSUIT RACE and BAR-B-Q
17th JULY 2010
First Start: 14.00h
If you have never tried a pursuit race they are great fun and a good introduction to racing for the inexperienced - no crowded start line. Boats start according to PN with the slowest going off first. You then just have to stay in front of all the ‘faster’ pursuing boats while trying to catch up the ‘slower’ boats in front. If we sail to our handicap we should all be in line abreast after 90 minutes giving the Race Officer a nightmare finish!
A thought: If you look at the distance between classes when they start it gives you a rough idea of how far ahead they need to be in an ordinary race to win on handicap.
Bar-b-q: 17.00h
