A HUGE thank you to all the people that turned up on a grey November morning to help take up the slipway. It was no mean feat but in one morning we shifted 261 salt-sodden sleepers up on onto hard ground.
For those that haven’t heard this is not something that will become a regular feature as we have a new concrete slipway on the way in 2016 as part of the harbour flood defences. But in the meantime we have to take care of the one we have!
Particular thanks to all the volunteers, young and old, Bill Whitney for organising and Lisa and Rita for the well-earned breakfasts.
